Why Should You Make Your Own Candles?

I just love candles and the beautiful light that effuses from them – the flickering light throwing dancing shadows over all the surfaces – to dine by candlelight only is a wonderful experience. I have them lit all the time – especially when I´m relaxing in the bath – I light about ten or so candles, take my glass of wine, a book and some chocolate and it´s such bliss.
So what´s the problem – well, buying candles is now more expensive than electricity; every time I went to purchase them they´ve gone up in price yet again.

Eventually I decided that I´d had enough and went off to investigate how to make candles.

So How did I do?

Brilliantly actually, I checked out some ebooks and ended up buying “Secrets to Successful Candle Making” and here I am just a month later making my own candles.
It´s turned out to be a wonderful hobby, I enjoy it so much, it´s very therapeutic when you´re actually immersed into it and the smells in the house are wonderful.

I had a few failures at first, lopsided candles and so forth but I quickly got the hang of it and the ebook is stuffed full of hints, tips and secrets that you´d never find out yourself in a million years.

Now I´m experimenting with adding fragrances cos there was a bonus book called “Candle Scent Mixing Guide” which is proving invaluable.
I´m definitely going to be giving my candles away as Xmas presents because while they´re inexpensive to make they look great and people alway appreciate home made gifts if they´re classy and useful.
I´m really considering trying to sell some of my candles as well as a small Home Business and if I do there´s another two bonus ebooks as part of the package dealing with selling candles on eBay and at local craft fairs.
